Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2 Empuraan released in theatres this Thursday and Mohanlal, Suchitra and Mallika watched it at a theatre in Kerala.

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Malayalam film L2 Empuraan was released in theatres this Thursday. Lead actor Mohanlal watched the film with fans at the Kavitha Theatre in Kerala. Prithviraj’s mom was also present at the screening, and Mohanlal greeted her with a warm kiss, a video of which is doing rounds online now. Mohanlal’s fan pages posted numerous videos from his visit to the theatre. One video shows him walking into the theatre with his team and spotting Mallika, who’s already seated. He stops to greet her with a warm kiss before making his way to his seat. His team can also be seen greeting her after he leaves.

Another video shows his fans facing towards where he’s seated and screaming ‘Lalettan’ (big brother). Some even whipped out their phones, craning their necks to catch a glimpse of him. Mohanlal’s wife, Suchitra, also accompanied him to the show, sitting next to him after they arrived early to watch the film.

Numerous videos on his fan pages show the audience celebrating the film’s release at various single screens by bursting crackers, throwing confetti, putting up large posters and more.

About L2 Empuraan

L2 Empuraan is the sequel to Prithviraj’s 2019 hit Lucifer and the second part in a trilogy. Apart from Mohanlal and the actor-director, the film also stars Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Nikhat Khan Hegde Jerome Flynn, Indrajith Sukumaran, Eriq Ebouaney, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film was supposed to be released in 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Murali Gopy wrote the film, which was produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies. The film received mixed reviews after its release in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. Deepak Dev composed the film’s soundtrack. The film is expected to have a good opening at the box office and do well over the weekend.
