‘Drama at this age is embarrassing’: Trisha Krishnan makes 1st post after Udhayanidhi Stalin remark controversy

Trisha Krishnan broke silence for the first time since Udhayanidhi Stalin allegedly made double entendre remarks regarding her and Vijay.

What began as a debate over the Cauvery water issue soon turned contentious over alleged comments by DMK leader and actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin about Tamil Nadu chief minister and actor Vijay and his rumoured girlfriend, actor Trisha Krishnan. A week after the controversy broke, Trisha made her first posts on Instagram, not just to celebrate her grandmother’s 98th birthday but also to share cryptic posts about ‘drama’.

Trisha’s return to social media did not go unnoticed as she made cryptic posts on her Instagram Stories. One post she re-shared with an emoji read, “Drama at this age is embarrassing ... Go make some money and find peace.” While she didn’t name anyone, fans took it as her response to the recent controversy.

Another post that she re-shared with an evil eye emoji read, “What a privilege it is to be overwhelmed by a life you once prayed for.” Trisha, who’s usually vocal when comments are made on her, stayed mum as Udhayanidhi was arrested for his alleged comments and released on bail.

Interestingly, her mother, Uma Krishnan Ganapathy, also made a cryptic post titled “Last one best one.” The post reads, “do workouts, do skincare, smell nice, drink water, make money, be nice to people, mind your business.”

Celebrates grandma’s 98th birthday

But the main reason Trisha returned to Instagram was seemingly to celebrate her grandmother’s 98th birthday. She posted a picture of her mother and another family member or friend celebrating her grandmother's 98th birthday. Pictures show Trisha’s pet Izzy and the family posing for photos at the birthday party. Dressed in a purple saree, the birthday girl also looks happy at being surrounded by family. An almond cake topped with golden candles seemed to complete the celebration.

The Udhayanidhi Stalin controversy

Earlier this month, Udhayanidhi addressed a gathering at a Cauvery protest, and when some people in the crowd chanted Trisha’s name, he allegedly made a double-entendre remark. He joked that he was referring to the Cauvery water after the crowd hooted and jeered. After his remarks, he was detained and questioned by police for about an hour at Sengipatti Police Station in Thanjavur district.

Following the video's viral spread, the women's wing of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) lodged a complaint with the Thanjavur Police, alleging that the DMK leader had made a double-entendre remark targeting Trisha. The DMK, however, has maintained that Udhayanidhi's remarks were misrepresented and were directed at the government's functioning, not at any individual.
