The mystery of Aishwarya's kiss
Speculations are rife whether Ash will kiss her Hollywood co-stars or not!
Indian actress Aishwarya Rai has never had an on-screen kiss, but that doesn't mean she will abstain from on screen kiss once she enters Hollywood.
"It would definitely be a topic of discussion," Rai told CBS' "60 Minutes" in an interview to air on Sunday. Excerpts of the interview were released in advance.
Rai has starred in approximately two-dozen Bollywood films and adorned several prestigious overseas ad campaigns like DeBeers, L'Oreal and Coca-Cola. The 30-year-old actress, and a former Miss World, said that a kiss is not just a kiss in Bollywood movies, where song and dance routines are often metaphors for sex and passion.
"In our society, you don't really see people around the street corner kissing or being extremely or overtly physically demonstrative," she said.
Her latest film, Bride & Prejudice based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, will be released in US theaters next year. The British romantic movie, directed by Gurinder Chadha of Bend It Like Beckham fame combines elements of Indian and Western cultures .
"We'll cross the bridge when we reach it," Rai said of future love scenes.
