Turkish airline bans crew from wearing red lipstick and bright nail polish

Turkish Airlines has announced on Friday that they will ban their flight attendants from wearing red lipstick and nail polish while in-air.

Turkish Airlines has announced on Friday that they will ban their flight attendants from wearing red lipstick and nail polish while in-air.

According to the Telegraph, as an alternative, the airline prefers simple make-up, immaculate and in pastel colours, the Huffington Post reported.

“As a consequence of our current cabin uniforms not including red, dark pink, etc, the use of lipstick and nail polish in these colors by our cabin crew impairs visual integrity,” the aircraft carrier said in a statement.

However, critics have spoken out on social media against the restrictions, which may mark a cultural shift in Turkey.
