Victoria finds Sonam Kapoor beautiful
Singer-turned-designer and football sensation David Beckham’s wife Victoria has given her stamp of approval to actor Sonam Kapoor’s style.
When Sonam, 26, recently made a public appearance in Pune dressed in an outfit from Beckham’s label, Victoria, 37, a style icon internationally, tweeted, “Beautiful actress @sonamakapoor wearing #victoriabeckham SS12.”
To this, Sonam replied, “Your dress makes me beautiful! Thank you! @victoriabeckham.”
A few days ago, Sonam, also dressed in a Beckham ensemble, made it to the international Best Dressed list of the fashion magazine, Vogue, alongside the likes of Hollywood actor Charlize Theron.
Sonam, at that time, had said, “I love Victoria’s dresses. She is my flavour of the season.”
While other fashionistas too have worn Beckham’s designs in the past, it is for the first time that the designer has appreciated and tweeted about an Indian carrying off her outfits.
“It’s a matter of pride for India. Getting an acknowledgement from Victoria Beckham herself is fantastic,” says designer Mandira Wirk. Designer Rina Dhaka says, “Sonam is putting India on the global fashion map. Victoria did justice to sonam’s style by acknowledging her.”
Designer Gauri Karan adds, “Sonam deserves this appreciation, she’s a big style icon.”
