According to reports, Thompson has converted to Islam and will move to Pakistan with Akram.
In an interview to The Australian, Akram said, “I never thought I would get married again, but I am lucky and very happy to find love again. It just goes to show that life can give you a second chance.”
Akram’s first wife Huma died in 2009. Since then, the actor has been linked to Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen and Pakistani model-actor Humaima Malick.
The 47-year-old cricketer went down on his knee to propose to 30-year-old Thompson. She told him, “If we are doing this the traditional way, then you have to ask my father.” Akram then called her father to seek his approval.
