Oi oi.. what is this I’m hearing now? I’ve just been informed that one Subrat Dutta is very thankful to Irrfan Khan. Huh? Who's he now and what is he so grateful to Irrfu about, I wonder.

My khabru tells me that Subrat is a Bengali actor and has played quite a few strong character roles in films like Lajja, Zameen, Tango Charlie to name a few, and will be seen as the protagonist in a forthcoming film called Madholal Keep Walking. So?

So apparently, this film was first offered to Irrfan…And after he declined to take it up due to prior commitments, the role went to Subrat. On hearing that The Namesake actor was the prime choice for the role, Subrat took it up without a second thought, says my informer. His highpoint came when he won the Best Actor Award for his performance at the Cairo Film Festival, and since then, he can’t stop thanking Irrfan enough. Good for him. Someone’s loss is someone else’s gain. After all, such is life dearies.
