A little biz, hardly any buzz

DAY 3: Forgettable shows on Day three of WLIFW

The day began with the FDCI's version of Gen Next designers. With the exception of Walnut by Nidhi and Divya Gambhir, whose brightly printed minidresses and see-through sheaths were the saving grace of the five-designer show, most other shows were amateur at best. Even some of the more established names didn't live up to their promise. With attendees complaining of 'no buzz', a term usually associated with the absence of celebrities, it was unfortunate that even the shows didn't cause any excitement.

Trend: Sequinned hot pants
Designers: AM:PM

It's the season of the leg, and in these sequinned hot pants, you'll be showing a lot of skin. Wear it with a tank top for day and throw on a summer jacket and heels for night.

Fashion WeekTrend: Extra-wide pleated pants

Designers: Rishta

Perfect for the summer, these extra large pants leave you with enough room to breathe.

Trend: Wrap dresses
Designers: AM:PM, Geisha Designs

Made for those whose curves aren't flattered by conventional designs, celebrate the return of the wrap dress. Worn crossed over the front of the body like a high-fashion robe, the wrap dress is good news for every body shape.

Trend: Extra-long sleeves
Designers: Manish Gupta

They look like churi pants masquerading as sleeves, but their length elongates and slims down the arm.

Trend: Floor-length capes
Designers: Prashant Verma

The dramatic designer introduced a suitably dramatic concept-floor-length embellished capes fitted with imposing shoulder pads. Superman would be jealous

Trend: See-through dresses worn over bikinis
Designer: Walnut

If you want all eyes on you this summer, check out Walnut's see-through panelled dresses. Bold yet bashful, don't be scared by all the attention you'll be attracting.
