“Rat trail braid is a very 80s, cool, free-look thing, and a large number of youngsters are copying the style ever since Ranbir’s look was revealed,” says hairstylist Shival Ghai of Expressions Salon. Those who sport the style wear their hair short all over their head and leave out a tuft of hair in the back to grow, which are then braided. “Those who can’t wait for their hair to grow long are going for hair extensions which are attached to their nape to give them an instant rat trail braid,” says hairstylist Richa Agarwal of Cleopatra Salon.
