After Sabyasachi Mukherji, Rohit Bal and Rocky S, designer Raghavendra Rathore has entered the home furnishing business in collaboration with Carmichael House.

He says, "This will be a specialised trousseau collection which includes everything from candle holders to linen for the bride's wedding collection."

So what goes in the making? "A lot of research on motifs, since every design should have a story to tell," explains Rathore.

If the trend in the past few years is anything to go by, more designers will soon be entering the home furnishing business. The primary reason for this is the changing lifestyle of people.

Rathore adds, "The very idea of luxury will change in next few months. Evolution of luxury is indigenous to Indians. It will become exclusive."

This collection, titled Rathore Jodhpur is already available in 600 stores around the country. The collection is priced at Rs 3,000 upwards.

Club Jodhpur, the prêt version of home furnishing is priced from Rs 1,000 onwards.
