Anita Dongre's summer picnic inspired eco-friendly organic ensembles in colours like white, yellow, catch everybody's attention, writes Deepti Kaul.

Grassroots by Anita Dongre is the first organic clothing line in the country. The collection had reusable, eco friendly organic cottons.

Summer picnic inspired ensembles carried flower and plant motives, which were used to embellish the skirt of simple summer dresses.

Male models appeared on the ramp in casual shorts and T-Shirts. Emphasis was on natural dyes, thereby making fabrics softer.

Anita Dongre showed by designing the same ensemble for mother and daughter. Everybody who wants responsibly to contribute to the environment can wear the concept of sustainable summer daywear. Happy colours like sunny yellow, green, blue comprised the collection.

The silhouettes were most wearable and suitable for daily use comprising of dresses, tops, tunics and jackets. Simple, yet stylish through contemporary details such as puffed sleeves, empire cuts and pleated frills at hem which all added to the playful appearance for Spring/Summer 2008.
