Fashion week pays tribute to Steve Jobs

The whole of Twitterverse paid tribute to Apple founder Steve Jobs, and now a fashion week in the city will do it. The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring /Summer 2012, which begins at Pragati Maidan today, will see many designers honour the tech evangelist.

The whole of Twitterverse paid tribute to Apple founder Steve Jobs, and now a fashion week in the city will do it. The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring /Summer 2012, which begins at Pragati Maidan today, will see many designers honour the tech evangelist who died in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Designers who are patrons and users of Apple products are dedicating their collections to the genius.

Designer Rahul Mishra, who idolises Jobs, says, "As a designer, he had this capability of making technology simple to use. I have used a similar approach and philosophy in my collection."



Fashion designer Anupama Dayal says, "Since the news came in just two days before the event, it will be difficult to do something special for him. But, he has left a mark on all of us and will affect our creativity. We as a fraternity will remember him as the event takes off."



Shantanu Goenka, who is also participating at the five-day fashion gala, says, "It’s a great loss to the technological world. We designers have shifted to Apple gadgets such as the the MAC to make our designs and collections better, and we’ll honour him through our designs."



Kangy will be there, too

Actor Kangna Ranaut will play showstopper at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, starting today. She will walk for designer Shantanu Goenka on October 10. Actor Rajeev Khandelwal will attend the opening of the event.
