Designer Payal Singhal, whose outfit with cut-out shoulders was recently seen on Nargis, says, "The style is very 80s inspired. It’s now a major international trend and can be worn with high-waisted

Designer Gaurav Gupta explains why the trend has caught on. "This is the time and age for experimenting, and new silhouettes are coming up everyday. Cut-out shoulders are one such example. Shoulders are a very beautiful part of a woman’s body and the cut-outs expose them very well," he says.

Meanwhile, shopkeepers in Janpath and Sarojini Nagar markets are also cashing in on the trend. "Cut-out shoulder waale T-shirts aur dresses aajkal bahut demand mein hain. Humare paas desi aur foreign dono brands hain," says Raju Nath, a shopkeeper at Sarojini Nagar market.
