The collection: Aparna and Nordan Wangdi’s collection was a very wearable western wear line with interesting surfaces. Dresses with drapes, wrap style and flares made for an interesting show. Colours like white, navy, grey, black, red, pink and cobalt blue. Asymmetric skirts and peasant dresses made for a very wearable collection.

Designer: Anita Dongre
Age: 45
Known for: Chikankari work

The collection: Anita Dongre's Timeless collection in Indo westerns with intricate tonal embroidery was well put together and presented. The excessive usage of mul gave it a soft summery feel and the colours like off whites. Rose pinks and beiges too highlighted the Benarsi weaves and tonal embroidery on cholis, lehengas and corset gowns.

Designer: Debarun Mukherjee
Age: 35
Known for: Interesting appliques

The collection: Kolkata based designer Debarun Mukherjee presented one of the most heavenly collections using creme cotton kora with golden floral appliques in Indian silhouettes. Seldom one gets to see a collection so beautiful from the first till the last piece.

Designers: Shantanu and Nikhil
Age: 37 and 35
Known for: Interesting drapes

The collection: Shantanu and Nikhil sprung up a high energy show with some sharpely tailored western wear like jump suits and body suits, dresses and skirts meant only for the woman who has the body for it! They were very young in appeal and fun wear and with Marc Robinson belting out some unusual mix of popular tracks, the show did rock the runway.

Designer: Rimi Nayak
Age: 26
Known for: Resort dresses

The collection: Rimi Nayak had some nicely draped garments in ombre shading and brush painting and some innovatively done surfaces using buttons. Grecian drapes and a touch of flowy drapes set the summer mood. There were also some interesting kurtas in light silks to give that swishy feel. The cowled jumpsuits were a hit too.

Designer: Malini Agarwalla
Age: 50
Known for: Handcrafted bags

The collection: Malini showcased her accessories in the spirit of carnival. The shoes, bags, necklaces were fit for a boho-glam feel. The belts and the jewellery had sequin encrusted work and pearls. There were also tassles and feathers on shoes that gave a whimsical feel to the collection. The fabrics used were brocade, jute, velvet and cotton.

SrideviMore goss from the front row

Where’s my arm candy?
Sidhartha Mallya was seen at the Lakme fashion week. Cheering from the front row for designers Shantanu and Nikhil. While his presence created a flurry, everyone seemed disappointed by his solo appearance. May be they were missing Deepika Padukone!

Cool and dapper
Designer Rajat K Tangri had actor Randeep Hooda as his showstopper. Hooda looked cool in a multi coloured coat and plain trousers but the front row audiences who were anticipating some leggy Bollywood lass as showstopper were left disappointed.

Fashion for me too
Actor Juhi Chawla came to show support for designer Anita Dongre’s show. Dressed in a black top and copper coloured pants she wowed thel ensmen not with her fashion sense but with her lovely smile. Also seen with her was actor Urmila Matondkar

Not without my daughter
Guess who got their little daughter to get her fashion lessons right from the start. Actor Sridevi was seen with daughter Khushi at designer Babita Malkani’s show. The star wore a pair of jeans and ruffled shirt with an LV bag. Khushi looked lovely in a candy pink frock

Some more celeb show
Actor Minissha Lamba made her apperance not on the ramo but on the front row. Lamba came dressed in a black Rajat K Tangri dress to catch the shows. She was seen keenly watching the shows and even talked about fashion animatedly.
