Top designers, high street brands, a Hollywood favourite … Delhi has never had it so good as premium international clothing brands make their way to the Capital. A number of brands have set up shop in Delhi in the past few months and more are opening soon. The Spanish clothing chain Zara will open in Select Citywalk, in early May, Alexander McQueen designs will be available within two months, while Banana Republic and Abercrombie are awaited. Brands such as 7 For All Mankind (the jeans favoured by some Hollywood stars), Estee Lauder and Salvatore Ferragamo opened recently.

Kitsch, a multi-label store in DLF Emporio, will now stock brands such as Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier. “These international brands see great potential in India. The spending power has increased. We are in talks with more brands to be made available at Kitsch,” says Priya Sachdev, COO of TSG International that’s organising a show of international brands today in the Capital.

“Delhi is now a preferred fashion hub for brands. The response to 7FAM has been overwhelming,” says Ramit Shakdher from Maxxis Retail.
