Salman to launch clothing line for women

Salman Khan, who is returning to the ramp for a second time with his Being Human line at the HDIL Couture Week, will take a step away from his previous showing and focus on womenswear.

Salman Khan will return to the ramp for a second time with his Being Human line at the HDIL Couture Week, which kicks off today. Taking a step away from his previous showing, this collection focuses on womenswear, accessorised by a high-end diamond jewellery brand.



The actor will no doubt have a gamut of leading ladies walking the ramp on October 9, though there is no confirmation on names yet. Stars like Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Aamir Khan walked the ramp for him last year, but Khan’s collection was not made available at any stores.

Says designer Shane Peacock, who designed the artwork-inspired dress worn by Kaif, "They took a lot of garments designed by us on Alvira’s (Khan’s sister) request, but I don’t think any of them were sold." Despite no word on the availability of the new collection, rumour has it that Khan will also be launching a line of watches this time.



Other celebs bringing their designs back to the ramp are Karan Johar and Varun Bahl. After launching their label last year, their new Victorian-inspired menswear line will be available at Aza Men after the duo’s show on October 7.

Meanwhile, designer Manish Malhotra, has already confirmed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as his main showstopper. “She will be walking as showstopper after almost 20 years,” reminds Manish. “It is a simple flowing garment, high on glamour.” Delhi-based Rina Dhaka will have actor Anoushka Sharma walking the ramp for her.
