Sonam scores big

Unlike previous Cannes debutantes, Kapoor nails it.

Her red carpet debut sealed her status as fashion’s favourite girl. Dressed in a Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown, Sonam Kapoor had Indian designers applauding. “She’s never looked better,” says James Ferreira. “From the hair to the nail paint, she’s got it right.” Masaba Gupta, who created a sari for her that was worn to the L’Oreal dinner, says, “She took a big chance because it’s not easy to pull off, but she was the best dressed person there.” Nikhil Mehra of Shantanu and Nikhil agrees adding, “She proves how beautiful Indian women are.”
