While LFW designers Anand Kabra, Nikasha Tawde and Sabyasachi Mukerjee are looking to explore the fashion potential in Shanghai, buzz is that another set of designers Rahul Mishra, Wendell Rodricks and Neelanjan Ghosh will be showing their works at the India – Sweden: Cultural Collaboration through Contemporary Art and Fashion, an event organized by the cultural ministry of Sweden. Mishra confirms the participation of these three designers and adds that the trio is hoping to establish the presence of Indian designers in Scandinavia (where the event will be held).

Mishra will be showing the same line he paraded at the recent Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in Delhi. The young designer was to show his line on Day One at the WIFW but due to unavoidable technical glitches, all the shows lined up for the day had to be canned and Mishra got a chance to show his designs only after the actual fashion week concluded. Still, he holds no grudges. “The response to my Butterfly Effect line has been phenomenal and that’s what matters. But the fact that I’m getting to show in Scandinavia makes up for all the trauma at the WIFW,” says Mishra.

Another reason he is on cloud nine is that a few buyers from Scandinavia have already placed orders for his designs. “The orders are already coming in. The organising team is paying for my entire trip. All I have to do is keep aside six days for the event,” beams Mishra. “When the government takes over an event, it ensures success, like in this case where the Sweden Cultural Ministry is at the helm of things,” he says, hinting at our government to take a cue and follow suit.
