Women design at menswear week
For the first time four female designers will showcase their menswear collections during Mens Fashion Week.
It’s the turn of men to share notes on the latest fashion trends, with the second Mens Fashion Week starting in the Capital from Friday.
And for the first time, four female designers — Rajvi Mohan, Krishna Mehta, Anjana Bhargav and Sanchita Ajjampur — will showcase their menswear collections during the three-day event from September 2-4 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj.
“It is a privilege to have these talented women display their creativity when it comes to menswear,” says Fashion Design Council of India’s (FDCI) President Sunil Sethi.
He adds that with non-Delhi designers such as Arjun Khanna and Troy Costa from Mumbai, Rohit Kamra from Jaipur and Manoviraj Khosla from Bangalore, this time the event is set to see representation from almost all the fashion hubs in the country.
Also, in a remarkable show of solidarity, six directors on the board of FDCI — Rajesh Pratap Singh, the duo Abraham-Thakore, Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna and Abhishek Gupta — will take part in a joint show, to showcase their latest menswear designs.
The best is saved for the last, as actor John Abraham will take to the ramp in the closing ceremony, following the Grand Finale show by designers Karan Johar and Varun Bahl.
