Haters trolled mother for working out at a supermarket, she hits back with this video
Meet Sia Cooper, a sassy mother-of-two from Florida. The fitness blogger swiftly shut down mom-shaming and won the internet with her work-out videos, in which she’s seen doing lunges and squats, all while pushing her young daughter around a US store.fitness Updated: Oct 30, 2017 16:37 IST
The mother-of-two from Florida, US, recently posted a harmless video of her working-out at mega retailer, Target, with her kids in tow, causing mommy-shamers to rise from the depths of the internet to throw shade at her parenting skills. Some Instagram users felt the busy mom of Greyson, 3, and 17-month-old Everly, took it too far when she squeezed in a workout at the store. “This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen!” wrote one woman, while another snipped, “Go to your house to work-out. You are obstructing the aisle.”
But Cooper, who is on Insagram as @diaryofafitmommyofficial, didn’t let the criticism get to her. She fired back the most glorious response: Yet another workout video. This time, at another retailer, Walmart.
In the video, the 28-year-old fitness guru exercises throughout the superstore with her children, using diaper boxes to assist with weighted squats, her shopping cart as a prop for push-ups, and an ottoman to help with step-ups. Honestly, her resourceful workouts gave us quite the dose of fitness inspiration.
So why exactly did Cooper pick Walmart for her second grocery shopping workout video?
The reason is actually somewhat infuriating. When she posted her Walmart workout video on Instagram, she captioned it with the following explanation: “So someone negatively commented yesterday that I should’ve done my video in Walmart because I would’ve fit in better (in regards to my viral Target workout video) referring to the common thought that Walmart is a crazy, trashy place. Soooo... I did! Because that’s how I clapback at my haters.”
Heck yes, Sia - you tell those trolls!
Many of Cooper’s loyal social media followers were quick to support her sassy comeback. One commented, “Great job for getting your workouts in and teaching your babies how to live healthy,” and another wrote, “Let the haters hate! Love your videos no matter where they are!”
The video was meant to be lighthearted, Cooper told Us magazine. “I was shocked and in disbelief that people could have such a hateful opinion over something that wasn’t serious to begin. People completely took something fun and trashed it like they always do.”
What’s more, Cooper was back with another supermarket video on Thursday, writing, ‘SUPERMARKET WINE WORKOUT’ with her post.
Now that’s the type of positivity we like to see.
