Around 40 store owners met Gurgaon deputy excise and taxation commissioner (DETC) Aruna Singh on Tuesday and alleged that the pub operators, bouncers and visitors harass them and their customers.

They alleged that pubs encourage anti-social activities, compromising the security of shoppers. It is also affecting business.

The owners also apprised Singh about a liquor vend located adjacent to the mall. They claimed people consume alcohol and enter the mall premises and create ruckus.
Singh said, “I will send a report to higher officials in Chandigarh as I do not have the authority to cancel liquor licences.” On December 16 last year, members of the Haryana Nav Nirman Sena and Dalit Morcha had protested against the pubs.
