Gangrape case cracked, 5 held
Victim says rapists ignored police warnings given on her phone. HT reports.
Five of the seven men who allegedly abducted and gangraped a pub worker in Gurgaon were arrested on Tuesday.
The Gurgaon Police said the suspects, in the age group of 20-25, set their sights on the victim at the Last Chance pub in Sahara Mall, where they went drinking late on Sunday night.
A few hours later, the woman was chased, dragged out of her taxi, bundled into a car and raped in the rented house of one of the suspects, Amarjeet Singh, in Rajiv Colony, Old Gurgaon.

The victim told HT her 15-year-old brother, who was in the taxi, had informed the police about her abduction. The police called up her mobile number and instructed the drunken men, who took the call, to release her, but they paid no heed.

The suspects - all residents of Madeena village in Rohtak district - were arrested from under the Basai flyover on Farrukhnagar Road by tracking Singh's mobile phone. The Maruti Alto used to kidnap the woman was also seized.
CCTV footage from Sahara Mall helped in the arrests. "From the footage, we were able to track the vehicle whose details were given by the victim, her brother and the taxi driver," said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (Crime).
"The car's owner gave us the contact number of Singh, who stays in Rajiv Nagar," said Dayal.
