Gurgaon: Overhead tanks empty, Sushant Lok residents face water shortage

More than three thousand houses of C Block Sushant Lok are facing acute water supply crisis for past several days, resident said. Claiming that the developer has failed to fix the problem, they said none of the three overhead water tanks has adequate water to supply to every domestic tap in the block.

The motors of the three overhead tanks are damaged motors, residents said.

Anil Sharma, a resident, said, “We have been facing acute water crisis this summer. The pro facility management, which is the maintenance agency appointed by the developer Ansal Properties Infrastructure Limited (APIL), has failed to repair damaged motors to lift water from UGR to overhead tanks. The facility agency is not showing interest because colony is being transferred to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG). The transfer has not taken place yet but we continue to face water crisis.”

The residents approached residents’ welfare association (RWA) Sushant Lok for resolving the issue.

“We have appealed to RWA to repair the motors if facility management fails to do the same. Without water it is difficult to survive. How long we will spend money on private tankers? We want water supply from our own source,” said SS Rai, another resident.

General Manager (GM) Pro facility management Ravi Saini said, “The residents have stopped paying maintenance and more than Rs 8 crore is due. In absence of adequate funds it is tough for maintenance agency to take care of these issues. However, we are doing our best to maintain water supply and civic amenities for the residents.”

When asked, AK Nagpal, president RWA Sushant Lok, said, “We took up the matter with the maintenance agency which assured to repair the damaged motors at earliest. There will be no water crisis from Thursday.”
