Gurgaon: Panel to hear women sexual harassment cases formed
The committee will hear complaints of sexual harassment on three days a week
Gurgaon The Gurgaon district administration has directed all institutions to submit their annual report under Sexual Harassment of Women (Prevention and Prohibition and Rejection) Act, 2013. The report is to be submitted by March 31, otherwise a penalty of Rs 50,000 will be imposed against the institutions.

A committee for hearing women sexual harassment cases has been constituted at the district level, additional deputy commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said on Friday.
The committee will hear matters related to sexual harassment for three days a week— Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This committee is authorised to hear cases related to sexual harassment in government offices and non-government organisations that have 10 or more employees.
These committees will also hear the cases of sexual harassment against those in senior positions such as institution managers or co-managers. Apart from this, cases relating to sexual harassment of domestic employees also be heard by the committee.
Dahiya said hearing of complaints related to sexual harassment of women is the main objective of this committee and it endeavour to provide justice to the victim create awareness against sexual harassment.

Earlier this month, a US-based owner and top officials of a hospitality firm on Sohna Road were booked for allegedly harassing a 26-year-old woman executive and threatening to make public her personal data and information, if she did not heed to their demands.
The woman alleged that the accused were asking her to enter into physical relations in lieu of salary hike and promotion. A case was registered at the Women’s police station in Sector 51 under sections 354A(2), 506, 34 of the IPC.
In August last year, an employee of an IT company complained to the police that her boss was harassing her repeatedly and forcing her to have physical relations with him. A case under Section 354 A (sexual harassment) was registered at the Palam Vihar police station against the accused, a resident of Delhi.
