Gurgaon: Woman accuses husband of raping her before marriage
She has also accused him of causing a miscarriage when she was two-months pregnant
A woman has accused her husband of raping her before marriage and causing a miscarriage after the marriage. On her complaint, the police have booked the man on Tuesday on charges of rape at the Sector 10A police station.

According to the woman’s complaint, she met Sunil, a Mahendergarh resident, in August last year during her stay in Manesar and they became friends. She alleged that one day Sunil and a friend of his took her Neemrana and he raped her. However, when she threatened to lodge a complaint with the police, Sunil requested her not to do so and agreed to marry her.
She added that they got married on December 11 at a temple in Manesar, after which they started staying in Gurgaon. She further alleged that her husband started misbehaving with her after their marriage.
In her complaint, she said that she was two months pregnant when on Saturday (June 2), she suffered from pain in her stomach and asked Sunil to get some medicine.
However, soon after taking the medicine, she experienced sustained bleeding and a miscarriage took place, she told the police, adding that despite repeated phone calls, her husband did not reply and went incommunicado.
On Tuesday morning, before she came to lodge a police complaint, Sunil came to their house along with his friends and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident, she said. He has been absconding since.
Sandeep Kumar, station house officer (SHO), Sector 10A, said, “A case of rape under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the husband. We are investigating the matter.”
