In his complaint, the victim, New Delhi resident Kuldeep Kumar Sachdeva, said that he had paid an advance of Rs. 11.70 lakh in March last year to Anoop Khandelwal, who resides in Karol Bagh, for a flat on Sohna Road.

The accused, however, could not furnish property documents despite waiting for months. When Sachdeva asked Khandelwal to return his money, the accused refused and stop taking his calls.

"We have registered a case against Khandelwal. The total cost of the flat is Rs. 1.7 crore," said sub-inspector Ramphal Singh of the Sadar police station.
