The illegal hoardings, which were erected by various companies and builders along major roads near the mall, were not paying any fee to the MCG.
“Such hoardings and advertisement boards along the roads are harmful for commuters and may lead to fatal accidents. In public interest, MCG has started a drive to remove them,” said a senior official.
On June 2 this year, MCG did remove 50 illegal small hoardings and around 600 big hoardings from Sohna Road, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, Golf Extension Road, Rajeev Chowk, Pataudi Road, Railway Station Road, Jharsa and DLF City and other areas of the city.
“We have constituted five teams to remove hoardings,” said Sanjay Chugh, an official.
