The Haryana government plans to extend the Gurgaon line of the Delhi Metro up to Manesar and a detailed project report (DPR) for the purpose is almost complete, chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Tuesday.

After getting a green signal from the central government, the state government has decided to extend the Metro line up to the Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Manesar, Hooda said after inaugurating a five-star hotel near the Kherki Daula toll plaza.

He also said that the state government is trying to solve the problem of traffic jams at the Delhi border toll plaza.

Hooda added that the construction of the 135-km Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway was being monitored by the Supreme Court and his administration has been trying to complete the project at the earliest. The expressway project has missed several deadlines in the last few years.

Meanwhile, a Parliamentary panel has recommended the urban development ministry should work towards providing Metro connectivity in Sonepat and Greater Noida.
