According to one of the victims, Sumeet Kharab, the local police, instead of helping the victim in registering a case, have manhandled him at the police station.

Peeved over the indifference of the local police, Kharab plans to escalate the case to the police commissioner.

“We are going to meet the police commissioner as the local police have refused to entertain our complaint,” said Kharab.

Kharab has been working with the construction firm IL&FS, which has been given the contract for Gurgaon Rapid Metro Rail project.

On Saturday night, he parked his car at Sikanderpur Metro station parking.

An attendant gave him a slip for Rs. 25. When he went to pick up his car, the attendants asked to pay R65.

An ugly spat ensued. When his friend, Shally Singh, tried to intervene, the assaulters allegedly used derogatory language and slapped her too.
“My friend asked the parking attendants not to fight but one of them slapped her. They also used abusive language and threatened her,” alleged Kharab.

According to the victim, the attendants thrashed him badly. “Shally immediately called up my colleagues at the Metro station and they rescued me from the three attendants,” he said.

Kharab also alleged that the parking attendants broke his car's windshield.

In the meantime, workers of the Rapid Metro Rail project arrived at the spot and allegedly thrashed the three parking attendants.

In the midst of the commotion, the parking attendants called up the police control room.

Shally further said, “The parking attendants called up the PCR and explained them the entire episode. They took us to the Iffco Metro police station. The officer in-charge slapped Kharab and blamed us for creating ruckus.”

“The parking mafia can harm anyone. It’s shocking why no action is being taken against them. We will meet the police commissioner and get an FIR registered against the parking attendants,” alleged Shally.

Rattan Lal, investigating officer at the DLF City Phase-I police station, said, “There was no manhandling and a compromise has been reached.”

Meanwhile, Parking supervisor Arvind Dubey alleged, “We asked for R45 and not R65. Why would we hit anyone without reason? A compromise has been reached between both the parties.”
