Pataudi to be buried at his native place today

The burial of former India captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who died in a Delhi hospital on Thursday, will take place at Pataudi village in Gurgaon on Friday. HT reports.

The burial of former India captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who died in a Delhi hospital on Thursday, will take place at Pataudi village in Gurgaon on Friday.

Gurgaon deputy commissioner PC Meena said, "The burial will take place at 2.15pm. I will be representing chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at the burial."

Earlier, Hooda has expressed grief over the demise of Pataudi. In a condolence message, the chief minister said in his (Pataudi's) death the country has lost a great cricketer. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace.

Meanwhile, Meena said the district administration will make all arrangements in case VVIPs turn up in great numbers for the burial.

"We are ready to put in place any arrangement to deal with the VVIP visits," Meena said.
