Molested by uncle, cousin, 15-year-old writes about her ordeal in answer sheet
The police was alerted by the girl’s school authorities after the 15-year-old girl narrated her ordeal in an answer sheet during the unit test examination on October 1.
A 15-year-old girl from Haryana’s Gurgaon district has accused her uncle and a minor cousin of sexually molesting her in an answer sheet during an examination in her school, police said.

Police arrested the 23-year-old uncle and cousin of the Class 10 student, from a village near Badshahpur, on Wednesday after the girl wrote about the harassment during the unit test on October 1.
A case was registered on Tuesday against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Badshahpur police station. The uncle was sent to jail and 16-year-old cousin to a correctional home in Faridabad, police said.
The police were alerted by the authorities at the girl’s school, who were asked to inform the child welfare committee (CWC) of the district.
The girl said in her complaint she was allegedly assaulted by her cousin, who is a student of Class 11 and lives in the same house as her’s in their village.
Assistant commissioner of police, crime against women and children (south), Shakuntala Yadav said the girl also alleged that her uncle (the son of her grandfather’s sister) had groped and touched her inappropriately. The uncle is their next door neighbour and often visits her house.
“We informed child welfare committee officials on October 1 to counsel the victim. The victim’s mother and cousin’s mother are sisters and are married in the same family,” Yadav said.
CWC chairperson Shakuntala Dhull said the girl’s statement could not be recorded last week as she was not in a position to talk to the authorities.
