RN Parashar, HERC chairman, Devender Singh, the CMD of Gurgaon Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Tarun Bajaj, MD, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, attended the meeting called to take the feedback of residents, industrialists to give shape to a new policy framework.

Residents said apart from erratic power supply they had to put up with callous officials who sit on applications for fresh connections and other electricity-related complaints.

“DHBVN has been delaying a proposal for installation of roof-top solar power generation system since January 2011,” said Raman Sharma of Malibu Towne. Residents said the power department has been adopting a callous attitude towards the legitimate demands of the people.

“Although we are eligible for uninterrupted power supply under the no-power-cut scheme, we are to get the benefit,” said Himangshu Vaish of the Udyog Vihar Chambers of Industries.

HERC chairman Parashar said, “We cannot deny that there is shortage of power in the state and hence schemes like no- power-cut feeders could not be honoured.”
