Thirteen-year-old Rohit Kumar (name changed), suffered multiple injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. While the school authorities have not taken action against the accused teachers, the police are also yet to register an FIR.

“Rohit along with his two friends was playing cricket in the school playground. Their ball fell inside a classroom. Rohit along with his two friends went to collect the ball. While he entered the room, his friends stood outside. However, he happened to see two teachers in a compromising position. The teachers got furious on seeing the children and started thrashing all three of them. They also locked my son in the room for a few hours,” said Rohit’s mother Sunita Devi.

Devi further alleged that they informed the school authority but they failed to take any action. “We informed the school authorities but no action was taken against the accused,” she added. The police have also failed to act, alleges Rohit’s mother.

Meanwhile, the education department has assured of action. “We will take appropriate steps after we conduct an inquiry. We will also find out why a complaint has not been filed till now,” said district education officer Manoj Kaushik.

Sources said the ‘accused’ teacher was footing the medical expenses of Rohit.

Dr AK Sethi of Sethi Hospital where Rohit is undergoing treatment said, “His parents brought him to the hospital after he complained of body ache five days ago.”
