The owner of hotel City Crown has been asked to appear for a hearing of the case on Wednesday before the MCG commissioner, Sudhir Rajpal.
The corporation had sealed the structure on February 16, following an order by the deputy commissioner (DC), PC Meena.
The plot, on which the hotel was coming up, falls within the 900-metre restricted radius around the ammunition depot any construction activity is banned in the area by the Punjab and Haryana high court.
According to MCG officials, the land is well within the restricted limit but the case will be crystal clear.
The building plan of the five-star hotel has been approved by the town planning department of the MCG.
