Thanks to a stressful lifestyle , dark circles, insomnia, migraine and a host of similar health woes have become a part of our life. While on one hand, you can’t do much to prevent job or academic stress, or curb your desire for junk food. Splurging on expensive cosmetics, medication or beauty treatments on a regular basis is not a practical remedy either. Beauty and wellness experts say that often the solution to all these problems lies in our homes itself.

For instance, homemade facial peels made of fruits or other easily available kitchen ingredients such as yoghurt, honey or even green tea could be a great way to relive stress, without burning a hole in your pocket. “Papaya and pineapple are two fruits with which some of the best and most effective face peels can be made. Papaya is also great for oily skin and has natural exfoliation qualities. Kitchen ingredients such as yoghurt and honey hydrates and relaxes the skin,” says Dr Geetika Mittal Gupta, medical director, ISAAC spa and wellness center. Green tea on the other hand is known across the world for its detoxifying, cleansing properties as well as its natural antioxidants. “While green tea is a known stress buster, it also prevents the signs of ageing and is also effective for acne, excessive oiliness and removing black and white heads,” says Raveela Sharma, owner, Vedic Spa Mantra.
