Always be calm: It is important to manage your stress levels to keep your heart healthy. Practice yoga or meditation or take a vacation to fight stress!

Get active: Aim for a 30-minutes’ workout everyday. It not only keeps the heart fit but also improves mental health.

Quit smoking: The moment you stop smoking, the risk of a heart attack reduces by 50%.

Balance your salt: Too much salt causes high blood pressure, which increases the risk of developing heart diseases. Have a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Monitor your alcohol: Excess of alcohol damages heart muscles, increases blood pressure and leads to obesity. Avoid intake of alcohol or at least gradually reduce the consumption.
