You may be a pro at multitasking, but it’s important to unwind and de-stress too
Women typically juggle more roles than men, exposing them to high levels of stress. Here are five ways to fight it according to Susanne Fogger from University of Alabama:
1. Get active
Exercise is essential — as long as you don’t do it within half an hour of your bedtime.
2. Don’t work before bedtime
Your brain needs time to unwind, so don’t work before sleeping. The gap between the two should be at least
two hours.
3. Eat well
Indulge in a balanced diet which is nutrient-rich and avoid food items high on glucose and carbohydrates.
4. Cut back on booze
Having alcohol to combat stress mars your body and mental health further. Avoid over-consumption.
5. Simplify your life
Cut out on things in life that don’t match up to your goals and surround yourself with supportive people.
