The evolution of healthcare mobility solutions has been on the rise due to the constantly growing medical requirements. Solutions include, mobile healthcare applications, online medical clinics, video chats between a doctor and a patient, and more. With umpteen mobile healthcare management solutions, patient care and everyday activities of medical practitioners can be simplified to a great extent. The healthcare centers today need to stay connected to patient’s records as well as emergency protocols round the clock. Patients are more demanding, regulations and compliance challenges are increasing. In a scenario such as this, mobility solutions are helping in keeping patients at the highest level of priority.
Apps are already empowering people to have more knowledge and a say in their medical decisions. Medical apps are beginning to level the playing field in patients’ favour, and will ultimately change the future of healthcare forever.
Enabling immediate access to care
Giving immediate access to medical healthcare, Navia Life Care is a medical startup that launched its interactive app, allowing patients to ask general health questions to doctors who are available 24/7, without requiring them to book prior appointments.
Facilitating instant connection between doctors and patients
Through mobile app and web-based technology, smaller and understaffed clinics have the opportunity to connect with other more experienced doctors at central hospitals and patients. They can effortlessly coordinate with doctors sitting in their home. Navia Life Care essentially helps patients to schedule appointments, monitor the side effects of a medication, remind them to take pills, analyse health reports, and a lot more.
We spoke with Mr Kunal Kishore Dhawan, CEO of Navia Life Care to understand the app and its functions better that will aid patients battling ill-health.
Please throw some more light on Navia Life Care and the thought behind starting the brand.
The idea behind Navia Life Care has come from very real problems faced by us. Coming from a family of chronic disease patients, and being a healthcare professional, I realized that these problems are global in nature and they can be solved using technology. I, along with my cofounders Gaurav and Shourjo started Navia Life Care in 2016.
Navia Life Care is one of the fastest growing Healthcare Technology companies in India, which empowers medical providers in the market through a digital platform that improves clinical and financial outcomes. It was started with a mission to aid healthcare providers with its mobile and software-based engagement platforms for building effective patient and providers’ relationships to further improve patient health outcomes across the world.
Navia Life Care’s tech platform – Navia SMART works to solve problems across a range of medical providers, including clinics, hospitals, medical centres, pharmaceutical companies and even insurance companies. It directly impacts patient health outcomes through the areas of patient compliance, monitoring, communication and engagement.
Navia SMART is a suite of products consisting of clinic management systems, patient engagement platforms, queue management and patient flow streamlining tools, and provider and patient-facing mobile applications. These digital tools are based on innovative ideas with a target to improve the relationship between the patient and the medical provider.
What is the turnaround time for a prescription for a patient?
For a typed prescription, it takes anywhere between 45 seconds to 2 mins, whereas by using Navi – our voice-based assistant, this time is reduced to less than 1 minute per prescription.
What is the way forward for Navia Life Care? Which cities does it currently cater to?
Being an innovation-driven company, we want to remain at the forefront of healthcare technology innovation globally. Our product pipeline is highly innovative and robust, we are developing solutions that work on deep learning and would aid a healthcare provider in every aspect of their work.
Our next big launch is NAVI, a voice-based virtual assistant for doctors that help them in automatically writing a digital prescription by a smart speech-to-text algorithm. The ultimate aim of NAVI would be to assist doctors in every aspect – diagnosis, prescription, referencing and communication.
Another new launch is Navia QM - specialized queue management, patient flow streamlining and appointment booking system. Navia QM is an artificial intelligence-powered system that reduces OPD staff workload by automatically creating and managing patient queues, along with informing the patient about waiting times, their position in the queue and other critical details. Navia QM is an asset-light product. It doesn’t require patients to download an app, or even the hospital or clinic to have a desktop or computer system. It can be operated simply by using mobile phones at the reception or by doctors. Additionally, the system comes with a tablet or mobile-based POS or kiosk that be used for self-check-in by patients within the hospital. Navia QM is a self-learning system, i.e. it learns from the behaviour of the doctor, and optimizes the waiting times informed to the patient, through the use of SMS messages. Delays and disabled appointments are taken care of as well, with the patient and doctors being informed of the same on a real-time basis.
With over 100 clinics and hospitals currently using our platform, we are active in more than 10 cities in India, including Tier 2 towns. Our target for 2019 is to be present in over 30 cities and towns, with over 2500 clinics and hospitals using our products.
