This year boasts of everything that Hollywood fans can hope for - blockbuster action, sci-fi adventure, romcoms, horror flicks and heart-touching drama.

After the summer months which were choc-a-bloc with animation, there's a lot of variety coming your way. These are the films that will keep you in the halls, and in the vicinity of a giant tub of popcorn, in the next two months.

The Fault in Our Stars (July 4)

John Green fans rejoice, The Fault in Our Stars is finally here. Starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, the film is about two teenagers who meet each other in a cancer support group and fall in love. For young adults and those who like their pathos with warmth and a generous dose of humour.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (July 11)

Said to be a deeper and more ambitious film than its prequel, it is about a growing nation of genetically evolved apes, led by humanoid ape Caesar. They are threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. A war ensues - who will emerge as Earth's dominant species?

Guardians of the Galaxy (August 8)

Marvel Comics is at it again. Get ready for an action-packed space adventure where we will see Peter Quill, a self-proclaimed Starlord, saving the world. His team includes Gamora, a green-skinned assassin (Zoe Saldana), Drax the destroyer (Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel), and a gun-slinging, badass raccoon (Bradley Cooper).

The Expendables 3 (August 15)

This time, Barney (Sylvester Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and the rest of the team is battling Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), an Expendables co-founder who went rogue. Prepare for many new-old faces and some big-ticket bang-bang.

22 Jump Street (August 29)

The two overgrown adolescents (Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum) are on a mission again. They go undercover at a local college but they have to do more than just crack the case this time round.
