Captain America Civil War trailer: 5 things you must know
Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) fight it out in the new international trailer of Captain America: Civil War. The Avengers world is divided as Marvel Cinematic Universe takes yet another leap.
It is civil war in the superhero land and battle lines are drawn. The new international trailer tells us more about the plot of Russo brothers’ film and we like what we see. Captain America (Chris Evans) has chosen to save the life of his friend Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) even if it means disenchanting his other friends aka lot of Avengers. The chief among these is Iron Man, called Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) when he is not in the suit.
The gargantuan Marvel arc continues as stories of Captain America: Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron come together in the new film. We met Bucky in Winter Soldier when he was the brainwashed, cryo-freezed soldier of the evil Hydra. Now that he has rescued his friend, Captain America refuses to give him up, neither to the government nor to Tony Stark with whom he has had a serious disagreement in the last Avengers film.
You will remember that it was over Ultron, the artificial intelligence saviour Stark built. The trouble was that once operational, Ultron decided he can save Earth only by killing all sentient life on it.
As the two clash in Captain America: Civil War, here’s every detail we could glean from trailer of the film which just might be the biggest superhero spectacle of 2016. And that’s the year we have Batman vs Superman: dawn of Justice coming out!
1. Team Captain America
It is established that Captain America has Winter Soldier by his side, and we already know what the latter’s metal arm can do. When Age of Ultron ended, Cap also had War Machine, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Falcon and Black Widow in his team of superheroes. Alas, War Machine, Vision and Black Widow are gone, to be replaced by Hawkeye and Ant-Man. Cap seems to be putting a lot of faith in Jeremy Renner’s bow and arrow and a superhero the size of an ant.
2. Team Iron Man
Tony Stark has been joined by his buddy War Machine and, strangely, Black Widow. She seems to be some kind of mediator in this clash but when it is time to throw the punches, she joins ranks with Stark. Vision, formerly called Jarvis, also seems to be throwing his weight behind Stark. We are introduced to African warrior Black Panther who is also a member of Iron Man team.
3. Where are Hulk, Spider-Man?
The superhero who was most notable for his absence in the trailer was Tom Holland’s Spider-Man while Hulk is apparently sitting this one out. To make up for his absence, Hulk’s nemesis General Ross (William Hurt) is back.

4. Sokovia Accords
Ross is the man behind Sokovia Accords. You can also call it the government’s way of keeping the superheroes under its control. He calls Avengers vigilantes and advises them that days of complete independence are over, or... He also wants Bucky who will end up paying for what he was made to do by Hydra. Iron Man is all for government control, Cap is furiously against official oversight. Ooh, a perfect reason for fisticuffs.
5. There will be action
Okay, given it is an Avenger film, that one’s a no-brainer. However, there will be real action between a very sad Iron Man on one side, and Cap and Bucky on the other. That’s not cool and Iron Man is shocked by what his frenemy is up to. He can also be upset because his own buddy War Machine seems to be either grievously injured or, worse, dead.
Te film releases on May 6, 2016.
