Dundee will never release in theatres.

It makes sense that a fake trailer would be created for a Crocodile Dundee sequel by Tourism Australia. The first movie, designed to appeal to American audiences, became a worldwide smash and did wonders for Australian tourism. And now, the board has brought together some of the biggest Australian actors working today - Chris Hemsworth, Luke Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Ruby Rose, Isla Fisher and Russell Crowe as the villain. And also, Danny McBride as Crocodile Dundee’s son.

The ‘movie’ first came into spotlight after a teaser trailer was released without any prior warning, leading many to believe that the film had been secretly shot. However, Brisbane Times later reported that the trailer was an elaborate tourism campaign. And the whole thing has been growing steadily more elaborate ever since, with new trailers being released and new actors jumping on board. It is all supposed to conclude with a grand unveiling during the Super Bowl, on February 4.

The ‘story’ - yes, there is one - involves Crocodile Dundee’s son, an unlikely slob played by McBride, returning to his father’s homeland, burdened with a legacy he cannot comprehend. He embarks upon an adventure with Chris Hemsworth, who plays an all-Australian male. Jackman plays what appears to be the Prime Minister, while Russell Crowe plays ‘the most dangerous animal in Australia.’
