British actor Emily Blunt earned rave reviews as Queen Victoria in the 2009 costume drama, The Young Victoria. But, next month, she begins shooting Tom Cruise’s futuristic action saga, All You Need Is Kill.

British actor Emily Blunt earned rave reviews as Queen Victoria in the 2009 costume drama, The Young Victoria. But, next month, she begins shooting Tom Cruise’s futuristic action saga, All You Need Is Kill.

This is Blunt’s first action role and she is excited about it. Blunt describes her character in that film as the toughest soldier alive.

The 29-year-old had her breakout Hollywood role in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada and has had a fairly busy year with starring roles in The Five-Year Engagement, Your Sister’s Sister and Salmon Fishing In The Yemen.

Blunt stars alongside Colin Firth in a second Toronto festival film, the road-trip tale titled, Arthur Newman. But, with her new sci-fi film, Blunt might just be the new action star in Hollywood.
