Oscar winning actress Halle Berry is set to play veteran singer Aretha Franklin in a biopic. Berry has been confirmed by the Respect hitmaker to play the star in her older years.

Oscar winning actress Halle Berry is set to play veteran singer Aretha Franklin in a biopic.
Berry has been confirmed by the Respect hitmaker to play the star in her older years.
"Halle Berry is me for the older me and a younger actress has yet to be named," contactmusic.com quoted Franklin as saying.
The 68-year-old legend is currently recovering from treatment from pancreatic cancer in Detroit and says she has previously had offers for films about her life but has turned them down for not offering enough.
"Yes, for the last four years we've been talking about that and I've had a number of offers but unfortunately they were not good offers," she said.
