"The real struggle happened after Slumdog Millionaire. Before that, it was ‘Will I get my foot in the door, and a chance to do what I really want to do?’, but it happened in a way which was so monumental that I was starting from the top. The fall from the top is the hardest, and it hurts the most," says Freida.
Since the actor had that realisation from the very beginning, she decided to be careful about the work she wanted to take up right from the onset. "In order to avoid that fall, and to cushion it, I had to work hard to find projects which were meaningful. So, instead of choosing the commercial projects which I could have easily done, I chose other projects. I did much smaller films… Of course, it was great when Woody Allen chose me for his film," says the 30-year-old, who has been part of projects such as You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger (2010), Miral (2010), Rise Of The Planet of the Apes (2011) and Trishna (2012).
