Actor James McAvoy will star opposite Jessica Chastain will play husband and wife in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, an upcoming film by Myriad Pictures.
The film is an exploration of how a married couple in New York City deals emotional, life-altering experience, but it is being told in two movies and from two perspectives: one from the husband (McAvoy), a restaurant owner, and the wife (Chastain), a woman who goes back to college.
Since it involves two perspectives, the film has been divided into two parts --The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers, said The Hollywood reporter.
Ned Benson of In Defiance of Gravity will direct the movies from a script written by him. Casting director-turned-producer Cassandra Kulukundis is producing.
Myriad presented the script to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin earlier this year and is now pre-selling the project in Cannes.
