Kevin Hart has taken the number one spot on this year’s list of the world’s highest-paid comedians by Forbes.

The news means that the comedian has knocked Jerry Seinfeld off the top spot -- the first time since Forbes started its list of high-earning comedians that someone has taken the crown from the King of Comedy.
Seinfeld’s combined pretax earnings over the last decade pass an impressive $900 million mark, thanks to a haul of $87.5 million, Hart made over $30 million more than Seinfeld between June 2015 and June 2016, making him this year’s number one.
Comedians’ earnings come from a variety of sources, including touring, endorsements, films, DVD sales, TV specials and paid appearances. Hart has taken this year’s top spot thanks to his dedication to touring, playing over a 100 shows with in the 12-month period, each with an average gross of over $1 million.
But Hart isn’t the only surprise entry in this year’s list. Amy Schumer not only makes her own debut on the list at no 4, but also represents female comedians everywhere as the only woman to ever make the highest-paid comedians list.
