Actor Mickey Rourke’s ex-wife Carre Otis has revealed that the actor threatened to kill himself if she didn’t accept his marriage proposal.
Otis, 46, confessed in her memoir, Beauty, Disrupted, that she only wed Rourke because she was terrified he would kill himself, reports contactmusic.com.
In an excerpt obtained by the New York Post, she wrote: “I left Mickey in Miami... But I wasn’t really surprised to get a call. On June 25, 1992, a limo picked me up. He was sitting on the hood of a car, and said,‘Otis... I... I don’t know what to say. I love you. I miss you. I need you. I... I want you.’ He was stammering. ‘Marry me,’ he said,” Otis wrote, adding she asked for time. To this, Rourke said, “‘No. You answer me now. I can’t live without you,’ he said again, pulling out a long sword and stared into my eyes. ‘Answer me or I will die’,” wrote Otis.
