Actor Priyanka Chopra is living the busiest days promoting the latest season of her American television series Quantico. She appeared on popular talk show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, on Wednesday where she spoke about being business partners with her mother, stereotypes about Bollywood and shooting for her own action sequences.
When the host asks her why Priyanka gets kicked around on the show all the time, she lets him know that FBI and CIA doubt her because she is the brown girl. This is why Alex Parissh retires from her agent life in the new third season and begins a new life in Italy.
She will now be seen as a black ops operative for which she shot in Ireland. Madhu Chopra, Priyanka’s mom, visited her in Ireland while she was shooting and speaking about this, Priyanka explained how much fun it was to work with her mother and burst out laughing. She said, “You could never yell at your mom. If it’s a problem or if you have a disagreement, she always just gives you the eyes (the scary mother stare), it’s like disappointed and then I’m just like, ‘Fine, we will do whatever you want’.”
It is then that the actor is asked about her work in India. Seth confesses that he was also one of the many who thought of Bollywood as genre. To this Pee Cee said, “No, and that’s what annoys me so much. I mean I don’t really think I realised that when I was in India working in Hindi films that Bollywood has been reduced to a genre. Which actually it is not. It is an entire industry with movies which is action, drama. It’s like Hollywood, but Bollywood is not even a place. Hollywood is a real place.”
She then continues to recount about this incident when she noticed a Bollywood flavoured popcorn at Trader Joe’s. “How do you put a flavour to an entire industry? What would Hollywood’s flavour be? Like cheese burger?” she asked to which Seth Meyers responded with, “No, it would be gluten free.”
Seth asked her about a stereotype that Indians have for American films and she responds with, “Aliens only land in like America. I want an alien in India. I want ET.”
The season 3 of Quantico premiered on April 26 and the ratings of show were disappointing as it took the last in its slot.
