Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges talks about his plans to start a country music band of his own.

His portrayal of an alcoholic country singer won him an Oscar, and actor Jeff Bridges now plans to pursue a musical career.

, said that he has been writing songs since childhood, just like the film’s protagonist Bad Blake, reported

“I’ve been writing and playing music since I was a kid, and I’m sure that’s what happened to Blake. Forming a country band sounds like a good idea,” said Bridges.

The actor who has been nominated for an Oscar four times in the past, said that films, just like music, help connect

people. “Movies are more than just entertainment. They’re connecting us. And music is the same way,” he said. But

star said that he has no plans to quit acting for music.

“Acting is gonna (sic) bloom for me. That’s something I’ve been doing for a long time, and this is going to help me continue that,” said the actor who credited his wife of 33 years, Susan Geston for his win.

“I especially want to thank my gorgeous wife, Sue... we’ve been married 33 for years. We have a beautiful family. Thank you, guys. I wouldn’t be up here without you,” he said while accepting the award.
