Tarantino is ‘a huge’ J Law fan, almost cast her in Hateful Eight

Quentin Tarantino gushed about Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, saying he’s ‘huge fan’ and almost cast her in his new movie The Hateful Eight.

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino says he is “a huge” Jennifer Lawrence fan and almost cast her as the female lead in his upcoming film The Hateful Eight.

Tarantino, 52, was initially interested in casting the Hunger Games star for the part of Daisy Domergue and even met her prior to filming to discuss the possibility, reported Variety.

“I’m a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan. I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything.She was just doing me a courtesy to see me, I think. She was doing Joy. She had to do all this publicity on the Hunger Games movies. There was just no way in the world that she was available,” he said.

However, the director is “glad” with 53-year-old Jennifer Jason Leigh playing the role. “Having said that, I’m glad I didn’t cast somebody that young. I think I absolutely positively made the right choice, as far as the ages of the characters,” he said.

The Hateful Eight is currently playing in limited release in the US.
